Design of the Week (4/2/ - 4/8): Bath Tubs

Design of the Week: Bath Tubs
So as I was trying to find a design that I wanted to use for this weeks design.. I found myself looking for a product thats found in bathrooms. Since I havnt talked anything about Bathroom design yet, I thought this would be perfect for this weeks design.

These type of bathtubs that I have pulled from various dealers, are more of an overall organic design feel. They are luxury bathtubs, found in the wealthy homes of today's society.

To Keep in mind when designing Bathrooms....
"The literal translation of "a room with a bath" has evolved into a more technical description where a "full bathroom" must comprise four plumbing fixtures: bathtub, shower, toilet and sink." A quote from houzz.
The core of bathroom design is to create a clean, relaxing, spa feeling room that gives us the revitalizing materials to hydrate our body. Our bathrooms today our place we go to to relieve the stresses of our modern lives. Thats why it is important to create a space that gives you that feeling of relaxation. Since bathrooms are one of the most used rooms in the house it is also very important to think about function and flow of that room as well. Thats why we always see showers and bathtubs near each other always. And again since it is one of the most used rooms, it is needed to give the space the overall best design. But making sure that your design still fits with the overall design of your house. You want your bathroom to be as your escape, but yet still fit with your overall feel of the house. And since most of the time with bathrooms, you are limited to space, its important to keep the space in line with your lifestyle.

About the Following Designs....

-Since "Green Design" is the most popular type of design thats demanded right now... Most of these bath tubs are designed to be sustainable and are very eco friendly as well.

-When designing bathtubs, these designers have thought about the users, the comfort, the dimensions of the human body, the overall look of design, and ware they may see this design used in a luxury space.

I chose to show the "Organic" bathtub, because its a very large and popular design that is seen all over right now. The natural organic feel of a room, is being seen all over today's design, and that is exactly what these bathtubs show and represent.

What I love about this design is that this is carved from actual granite. I love how sustainable it is. And I love the organic presence it gives this room.

These next 8 designs are all from the W. Bath Collections.
I think they are beautiful designs... trying to capture that eco green design feel.

Personally: These two Under floor Bathtubs are my favorite. I love these designs. I love how these bathtubs are in the ground. I love how it makes you feel like it is a natural pond rather than a bathtub.

  1. This definitely expand my idea of the typical white bathroom tub.
Tascoquattro looked like there was bathroom stalls on the left. I also found the bath that looked like a wooden bowl ^-^
I definitely can see myself having the third bathroom. The snail shape has be thinking about the pains of cleaning it.

  3. I love your blog because you talk about the most creative designs that I would have never thought about. I have never imagined a bathroom having such extravagant bathtubs, but that could also be because I don't usually take baths. These are definitely really cool. Some of those bathtubs a little over the top but the round ones that look like giant sinks are my favorite out of the bunch, and also the tubs that are under the ground.
